Lou Reda Productions is a family owned documentary film production company with offices located in Easton, PA and New York City. Founded in 1978, the company has produced over 500 hours of programming for US and international television networks, including A&E, History, BIO, Discovery, Military Channel, CBS, HDNet and Viacom. Among the company’s signature series are WWII in HD (History) and Vietnam in HD (History).
Lou Reda, the company’s founder, made a national name for himself in 1982 when he executive produced the CBS miniseries The Blue and Gray (starring Gregory Peck as Abraham Lincoln). After moving into documentaries, Reda played a crucial role in producing content for the fledgling History Channel when it launched in 1995. Today, the company continues its longstanding relationship with History.
In 1983, Reda received a People’s Choice Award for The Blue and the Gray. Over the next 25 plus years the company continued to garner national praise, receiving numerous honors and awards, including eight Emmy nominations, five Cine Golden Eagles and nine Tellys. Most recently, in 2011, the company’s two-hour special WWII in HD: The Air War (History) was nominated for an Emmy. |
